I Saw A Film Today…Jackass 3-D

I expect one night in the distant future that I will meet up with some friends for dinner and reminisce about event from when we were younger. I also expect that at some point someone will say “hey, remember that one night we stayed up really late and watched that Jackass marathon?” While generations before had the Marx Brothers or the Three Stooges, my generation has the Jackass guys. Essentially, they are a group of idiots who took dangerous stunts that no sane person would attempt and made it into a marketable franchise. Maybe they are not as stupid as we think.

The boys are back in town for a third go around and this time presented in the glory of the color-dulling gimmick that we know as 3-D. This time they are more physical and more vomit inducing than ever before. Scenes range from a man in an extremely real-looking gorilla costume destroying and terrorizing hotel guest to Bam Margera’s pee cam, in which he proceeds to urinate on various cast members.

If you are a fan of the previous two films or the television series, I am quite certain that you will be pleased with this film. I would suggest seeing it in 2-D though, as the 3-D technology does not really add anything to this film (it will also save you about three notes per ticket and will also make the film visually brighter).

Compared to the previous films, this film’s physical humor can be funny and entertaining.  Notable skits include the bungee boogie (cast members being launched into an inflatable pool with items such as a surfboard, boogie board, etc.), Jet engine (A jet engine used to throw items such as footballs), and the hilarious Midget Bar Fight sequence.

There of course were skits that were just not funny or just cringe inducing. These include such things as the Lamborghini tooth pull, Toy train explosion (too graphic to type), and The Poo Cocktail Supreme (a skit that should not be explained).

As I stated above, if you are a fan of the franchise, then I suggest you go see it. You will have a grand time and will enjoy yourself. If you are just a curious person, I suggest you start elsewhere in the Jackass saga or more realistically just avoid it all together.

Verdict: SKIP IT!

So what about it Jackass fans, yay or nay? Leave your comments and opinions below.

  1. I absolutely adore that movie. Hilarious. I may be biased though, because Johnny and Bam or some of my very favorite people. I have to admit that it wasn’t as funny as the first two, but definitely more vomit-evoking.
